Professional translation for Contentful websites, delivered straight back into your site. Choose the pages, review the translations in your own editor and publish when ready.
Contentful makes adding a language easy. Filling it is the hard part.
Adding a locale in Contentful takes a minute. Getting every page, section, button and SEO field translated into it is where multilingual sites stall. Content gets copied into spreadsheets, sent by email and pasted back by hand, and something always breaks: a link lost from rich text, a field over its character limit, a translation that overwrote an edit nobody knew about.
Brightlines connects directly to your Contentful space. You pick the entries, we translate them with native linguists, and the translations are written back as unpublished changes into the correct locale, with rich text, links and references intact. Nothing is published until you say so, and any import can be reversed.
Your content model stays intact
Rich text, links, bold and italic preserved, references untouched
Translations land in the correct locale field as unpublished changes
Translation memory keeps every page consistent and updates cheaper
Translated by people, not pasted by a machine
Native linguists for every language; never raw AI output in your fields
Choose from AI+human to fully human creative translation
Linguists from your sector, translating content they understand
For content and development teams
Every market gets the site you meant to build.
Connected in minutes. No exports, no spreadsheets, no developer.
Your French locale is half empty and the campaign goes live in three weeks. Send the pages to us from the connector, review what comes back in Contentful, and publish when you are ready. The same linguist works on your account so tone and terminology hold from page to page, and translation memory keeps later updates quick and consistent.
No. Connect with any Contentful account that can edit your space and the connector does the rest. Your developer is not writing export scripts or retyping copy.
Can you handle rich text and embedded entries?
Yes. Bold, italic, links and embedded entries are protected during translation and go back exactly where they were.
Will translations be published automatically?
Translations arrive as unpublished changes in Contentful. You review and publish as usual.
What if the English changes while you are translating?
The connector spots it. Any field whose source text changed after export is skipped and reported, so a new edit is never overwritten.
Does it work with our existing locales?
Yes. Translations go into the locales already set up in your Contentful space. We do not create new ones or change your content model.

Developers and agencies building on Contentful
If you build Contentful sites for clients, a translation brief should not turn into an integration project. There is nothing to install and no API scripts to maintain. The connector respects your content model: it only touches fields marked for localisation, checks translations against field rules before writing, flags anything for review and takes a snapshot first so that any import can be undone without disturbing later edits. You keep the build; we handle the languages.
Click Connect Contentful and sign in with your own Contentful account. No tokens to copy, nothing to install. Connect with any Contentful account that can edit your space, or set up a dedicated Contentful user for Brightlines so changes are clearly labelled and the connection does not depend on one person.
Pick the pages or entries you want. Each shows its word count and translation status per language. Select a page and its linked sections; buttons and SEO fields come with it, listed before anything is exported.

Linked sections, buttons and SEO fields included automatically
Full list shown before export, so nothing is included by surprise
Your content is translated by native linguists. Choose the level that fits the content, from AI first drafts to fully human creative translation for the pages that win customers. Translation memory reuses every approved translation, so updates stay consistent and cost less.

The same connection handles more than page copy. Send video for subtitle translation, with transcription available when there is no caption file, and documents such as Word files and PDFs. For PDFs, we may ask for the original editable file so the layout can be reproduced.

Contentful translation questions tend to be practical: how we get access, what happens to rich text and linked entries, and how you stay in control of what goes live. If yours is not answered here, get in touch and we will answer it for you.
How does Brightlines connect to our Contentful space?
Through Contentful’s own login. You click Connect Contentful, sign in and approve access, just as you would connect any app to your account. No access tokens are copied or emailed. You can connect with any account that can edit your space, or set up a dedicated Contentful user for Brightlines so changes are clearly labelled and the connection does not depend on one person. Access to your Contentful account can be removed at any time.
How are Contentful locales handled?
Translations are added to the locales already set up in your space. We do not add locales or change your content model. If a locale is missing, your Contentful admin adds it under Settings and Locales, enables localisation on the fields that need it, and the connector picks it up. We only translate fields marked for localisation, so IDs, dates and technical fields are left alone.
What happens to rich text, links and embedded entries?
They are protected. Bold, italic, links and embedded entries in rich text are locked as tags during translation and restored in place on import. Linked sections, buttons and SEO fields are available on the selected page wherever their fields are enabled for localisation.
Can we review translations before they go live, and reverse them if needed?
Yes to both. Translations are written to Contentful as unpublished changes, so you review and publish in the normal way. Before anything is written, the connector takes a snapshot of the existing translations. If an import needs reversing, undo restores the previous translations, leaves any fields you edited since untouched, and lists them for review.
Can the same connector translate our videos and PDFs?
Yes. Video goes through the same connection for subtitle translation, with transcription available where there is no caption file. Documents such as PDFs are translated alongside your site content, by the same linguists and with the same translation memory, so terminology stays consistent across everything you publish. For PDFs, we may ask for the original editable file so the layout can be reproduced.
