Who we are
Brightlines Translation started back in 1999. We’re a translation company that works with all sorts of businesses – big global brands you’ve heard of, and smaller specialist ones you might not know.
These days, our main office is in Bath. It’s a lovely old city, famous for its Roman baths and Georgian buildings. We’ve got offices in London and New York too. We work with loads of translators and experts all over the world, so we can handle pretty much any translation job, no matter how tricky or what languages are needed.
We really try to get to know our clients’ businesses properly. We learn about what they do and what they want to achieve. It’s not just about translating words – we aim to give great service, work in a way that suits you, and of course, provide top-notch translations.
Our clients stick with us because they know they can rely on us. Whether you’re a big company or a small one looking to sell abroad, we’re here to help you get your message across in other languages.
How it all began
In the mid-nineties, Neil Gauld runs a design company working with advertising agencies. Through this work, he notices a growing need for translations that preserve design quality across different languages.
Seeing an opportunity, Neil sets up Brightlines Translation in the UK. The company aims to provide clear communication in any language, focusing on maintaining the look and feel of marketing materials.
Neil’s approach catches the attention of a Norwegian advertising agency. This leads to Brightlines’ first big job: a 46-language translation project for the Norwegian government.
From this start, Neil grows Brightlines Translation into a respected name in the industry. The company specialises in marketing translations that keep brand identity consistent across multiple languages and cultures.
Today, Brightlines Translation serves clients throughout the UK and internationally, building on Neil’s original vision of bridging language gaps in marketing and design.
