Congratulations. You’ve got a stunning WordPress site. You slaved. You laboured. You tested and perfected. More than a pretty shop window you’ve created a compelling brand experience. Now it’s time to take that experience around the world.

The bad news? Website visitors are just as demanding and impatient in different languages as they are in English. If they don’t immediately find what they are looking for, if they feel that the language on your site isn’t clear and engaging, they’ll be off. Which means getting your translation right is more than good manners. It’s good business.

Beyond translation. The Brightlines Difference.

Brightlines handles translations for some of the biggest brands on the planet. Our linguists go beyond direct translation to replicate the impact and effectiveness of your original web content in any language, and for any culture you choose. You can now apply the Brightlines advantage to your website using the WPML translation plugin. To get us on board, simply follow these four simple steps.

  1. Getting started

Download the WPML core plugin WPML Multilingual CMS and any other add-on plugins to enhance your websites functionality.

WPML also offers a range of compatibility plugins that work smoothly with other well-known WordPress plugins, such as WooCommerce, ACF, Gravity Forms, and many more. Calculating a Website’s Word Count with WPML

Estimating Word Count: WPML provides two methods to estimate the word count of either specific content or entire post types on a website.

For Specific Content:

  1. Go to the WPML → Translation Management page.
  2. Use filters to identify the content you wish to translate.
  3. By selecting the desired content with checkboxes, you can view the word count estimate, displayed beneath the content list.

Note: The word count automatically updates as different content is selected.

For the Entire Website or Specific Post Types:

  1. On the WPML → Translation Management page click the ‘Word count for the entire site’ link.
  2. In the pop-up dialogue select the post types for which a word count is needed and then click ‘Recalculate’.

Influence of Translation Memory on Word Count and Costs

WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor and Brightlines Translation use translation memories. This means that you will get discounts for text that has already been translated and for text that is repeated throughout the website. Websites often have a lot of repeated text so quite a saving can be made.

Getting a fixed price quote from Brightlines

Once you have the word count let us know what it is, or export the content to us so we can analyse the text and calculate the cost for you. If you do export the content to us, don’t worry we will not start anything unless we have an explicit instruction from you to start!

Priority Support

If you become a Brightlines customer you will automatically receive priority support from WPML, how’s that for peace of mind?
