Brightlines provides creative translation for British Council’s online LGBTQ+ short film festival
The festival, which runs in collaboration with BFI Flare, is the fifth edition of the series and is the world’s widest-reaching online LGBTQ+ short film festival. As part of the #AnyoneAnywhere season, the British Council are encouraging people to watch the films in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ communities, wherever they are in the world. They are placing particular focus on areas where freedom and equal rights are limited to recognise the fact that ‘Love is a Human Right’ and that the web should be a free and open space for all.
Brightlines have been providing translation for the film festival for the last two years. We strongly believe in the concept behind the festival, and are proud to be involved in such an inclusive and eye opening project.
The film festival runs from the 21st to the 31st March 2019. You can watch interviews with the filmmakers on the British Council website.
Our translation services are valued by our customers because of our attention to detail, industry knowledge and ability to portray their message in the right way. We truly care about the quality of the work we produce, and make it our job to fully understand the customer needs and their business – your goals become ours. The #FiveFilms4Freedom series is a perfect example of how our translation hits the nail on the head, especially given that the British Council have used our services for the last two years.
